Shane Tenny

Shane Tenny, CFP®, is a financial planner, author, husband, and father of four who believes that meaningful conversations about money begin with understanding people. As Managing Partner of Spaugh Dameron Tenny, he has spent more than 25 years helping individuals and families navigate financial decisions—and the emotions, expectations, and relationships that shape them.

His work combines financial planning with behavioral finance, exploring why knowing what to do with money doesn’t always make doing it easy. Shane has completed advanced studies in Behavioral Economics at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and is the author of Your Next Million: How Couples Succeed (or Stumble) When Money Multiplies. A storyteller at heart, he brings an approachable perspective to topics that can feel uncomfortable, from differences between spouses to comparison, spending guilt, and family expectations.

Shane draws on both his professional experience and conversations about money in marriage and parenthood. He and his wife, Noël, have been married for more than 25 years and have four children. Outside of work, he enjoys horseback riding, hiking, reading, and spending time with his family.
